Welcome to the club, where your body suddenly has a mind of its own, your thermostat is a battle ground and every part of you is a new challenge.
Here is what I have learned, it's the survival guide! give in to the fact that it’s the menopause, this was my biggest challenge, facing something I knew nothing about, apart from women of a certain age get 'hot flushes'. I am at the stage of my life where I thought the menopause was long gone and I had been one of the lucky ones, obviously not, it’s all just beginning!
You now experience sudden localised global warming, one moment everything is fine then the next we are stripped through the 3 layers of clothes to let the heat escape.
The brain fog allows you to walk into a room or up the stairs to stand there wondering what I was going for! Looking for something no doubt that I put away 2 hours earlier and now cannot find. This for now is the new normal.
No more telling me all the instructions or information all together, it’s now just a small section at a time, and I probably still won't take it in.
The mid-night dance - sheets on, then off, 25 times! and repeat!
The 3am party - This is the time you recall everything you did in 1995 - and where did you put that expensive make up bag? Every embarrassing moment comes to mind from then and plays on the nightly toll.
Only to get up the next morning looking less than glamourous - contributed by aging skin, dry eyes and weight gain, it’s all in them with the remainder of yesterday's mascara, making you look less like a Hollywood star.
Becoming vocal - my most favourite part, the polite internal voice that used to censor your thoughts has officially retired. My mouth sometimes opens and it all falls out, then I think I am over 50 free and liberated, no more of other peoples bullshit! then on the other hand crying at the simplest things.
The bad day's I struggle to find me, my glow seems to have gone, taking my motivation with it, but we ride those day's because I have learned these are only temporary, I bring in some self-care, because hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
The silver lining! - It doesn't last forever, I don't pressure myself as much, I take less nonsense and say how it is!
A new anxiety - I don't use it as my get out of jail card, or an excuse, I am simply learning what helps me, what doesn't, and if I achieve some momentum in my day, I am happy, I work with some days - tiredness and anxiety, knowing for now this is my new me!
No more telling me all the instructions or information altogether, it’s now just a small section at a time, and I probably still won't take it in.
My happy ending - I know what is helping me, and what doesn’t, one thing that does work and I am So grateful I found was rhealsuperfoods.com this has been a game changer for me, menopause tonic, collagen, and the daily green.
If you want to laugh through the heat let me know what symptoms drive you mad, we can do this together.
Love J x.
